We are positioned in the Apple Business Park Industrial estate, off Bindon Road in Taunton and within easy walking distance of the Park and Ride scheme at Silk Mills and near the Livingstone shops.  There are ample free car and bike parking facilities on site.

Current vacancies

Due to expansion and internal promotions, we have several exciting positions to fill:

Lettings Agent (full time) Location: HQ in Taunton

To handle and progress new enquiries into the Lettings Centre (phone, email etc), from the initial contact to viewing arrangements and ultimately to bring to reservation.

Salary dependent upon experience, plus individual monthly performance related bonus when probation passed.

This position is in the front line of the Company to join our team of 7 people in the Lettings Centre.  The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication, customer service and IT skills in order to maximise the reservation and lettings opportunities.

Some experience of selling, preferably property, gained in an estate agents/rentals or Lettings Office and use of the telephone as a means of selling i.e. telesales experience is desirable.  Some understanding of the retirement market and the ability to empathise or identify with the needs of retired and elderly customers would be an advantage. Good geographical knowledge of the UK would be helpful.

However, attitude and personal potential are key and we are looking for people who are keen to help older people to “Discover the freedom renting in retirement brings”.

Tenancy Administrator (full time) Location: HQ in Taunton

Under the direction of the Tenancy Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a team of 9 to process new tenancies, to include the taking up of references from prospective tenants, preparing Tenancy Agreements and all other procedures within an agreed timescale.

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaising with Tenants, Landlords and Development Managers, arranging and following through tenancies as directed.
  • Working with the Repairs and Maintenance Department, to ensure units are ready for occupation and to let on time.
  • Liaising with the relevant departments, Landlords, Tenants, Development Managers and Councils in order to complete each process in a professional and efficient manner.

Repairs & Maintenance Administrator (full time) Location: HQ in Taunton

You will work as part of a team of 7 and liaise closely with the Lettings Centre and Tenancy Department to ensure the maximum number of properties are let at all times by planning and implementing required maintenance works as swiftly as possible and to budget, ensuring best value.

The successful candidate will ideally be used to working in an office environment, preferably dealing with property related matters or lettings management. You must also have:

  • The ability to deal with a variety of people, especially contractors and retired persons by telephone, email and letter.
  • The ability to deal with and resolve customer complaints, in accordance with company policies and procedures and in a timely manner.
  • A good geographical knowledge of the UK.

Accounts Assistant (full time) Location: HQ in Taunton

This is an administrative position working within the Accounts Department (team of 7) dealing with the approval and payment of property costs, rent accounts and payment of supplier accounts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Purchase ledger – input of pre-authorised supplier invoices into Sage accounting system for portfolio properties.  Scanning of invoices into a paperless filing system.
  • Assistance with the day-to-day work of the accounts department including daily banking, cashbook reconciliations and dealing with tenants’ and suppliers’ queries.
  • General support to the Head of Finance and supporting the Rent Administrator with day-to-day rent management and credit control functions.
  • Controlling empty property costs, by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of charges for council tax and utilities on Girlings’ portfolio properties.
  • Covering the workload of other finance team members when they are away.

Salary for all positions to reflect qualifications & experience.
