There are a great number of attractions in and around Scarborough. Of the many which are free to enter several are listed here. Peasholm Park is an oriental themed park offering a beautiful system of streams and waterfalls, mini bridges and mystical gardens. There is a vast array of wildlife including an abundance of tame grey squirrels. Ayton Castle is a late 14th century three storey stone tower house. To the east are the remnants of the inner and outer bailey ramparts, with the grass covered foundations of an inner gateway and traces of fishponds.  Situated at the foot of Scarborough Castle is 'Hairy Bob's Cave' the local name given to a small carved piece of sandstone. The stone has been carved into what looks to be a small cave, however it is unknown how this came about.
